Joe Brandmeier has been a Producer / Director / Executive Producer for over 25 years. He has had the privilege of working with a long list of diverse clients – and very cool artists; Prince, U2, RunDMC, Wyclef Jean — MTV, ESPN, The Beijing Opera Company, NBC… and many more.
He’s directed two national Emmy-winning PBS specials for financial guru Suze Orman and worked with legendary music producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, documenting their work with artists Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, and others. Joe has directed and produced multi-camera projects with Garrison Keillor, Bobby McFerrin and David Hyde Pierce, along with three major productions for Minnesota Opera, including the Pulitzer prize-winning “Silent Night.”
Joe has worked with Bizarre Foods’ Andrew Zimmern to develop branded content, broadcast series and specials. He also partnered with Academy Award winning film producer Bill Pohlad (River Road Entertainment) for a couple years. In Haiti, he directed a live concert with the Fugees before a crowd of nearly 65 thousand, shot with Philip Bailey (of Earth Wind & Fire) in Africa, and then returned there to spend 6 weeks in South Africa for MTV.
He’s worked as Senior Vice President of production and creative with Rick Kupchella at the i.e. network — and receiving the attention of national and international film festivals with his feature documentary called, “I Do?” (a light-hearted look at the “crazy” concept of marriage). After screenings in Montreal and Singapore, it won the Best Documentary award at the Twin Cities Film Festival here in the U.S..
Joe has also authored a photography book, with inspirational quotes, called “UP NORTH” through Tristan Publishing.
After all these years, people, and places, he’s still loving life – and is very passionate about everything he takes on, bringing high energy and fun to all he does.
